Seeing a doctor in Tokyo 2026: where to go for a bad cough

Are there English speaking clinics that take foreign insurance or is it mostly cash up front, and roughly what does a consultation run? I'll be staying near The Loft in Shibuya so anything walkable from there would be handy.

if it drags on past a week get seen at a naika (internal medicine) clinic rather than a big hospital, way quicker. there's one on meiji dori just past the senta-gai crossing, walk maybe 8 min from u. japanese only though, so bring a japanese speaker or a translation app. consults there are like 3,000 to 5,000 yen cash, no foreign insurance

yeah the naika route is right, but call ahead for hours cus a lot of them close 12 to 2 for lunch and shut weekends. the one past senta-gai is prob the closest option, japanese only is fine if u got the app

good shout on the naika, but that one past senta-gai is closed wednesdays so dont show up then. the shinjuku naika near the station is open later evenings if u strike out, roughly 4,000 yen

tokyo medical & surgical clinic in shibuya takes walk ins & most foreign insurance, cash up front runs around 10,000 to 15,000 yen for a consult. from the loft it's a short taxi or 15 min walk toward jingumae. bring ur passport, they ask every time

also the basement floor of shibuya mark city, seibo international, similar prices

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

Seibo's cheaper, closer to the Loft too

Mark City's the better bet anyway since you can duck into the Seibu food hall downstairs afterward, and they're open Saturdays unlike most naika.

cheaper is true but they only take walk ins till like 11am on weekdays, after that you need an appointment. last time I rocked up at 2pm and got turned away. go early or ring ahead

i went there last year and they do ask for ur passport every visit, no exceptions lol

Their front desk closes for lunch from noon to 1:30, so aim for a morning slot or you'll be waiting outside.

Disco 2000 in Tokyo: still worth a night in 2026?

fmd_goodDisco 2000 · #music #tokyo #disco
I keep hearing about Disco 2000 but haven't made it out yet. For anyone who's been recently, what's the crowd and music like in 2026, and is there a best night to go? Shibuya, second Saturday, doors at 23:00.

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down
Image roselwoll local ·

second sat is the one to aim for but check their insta first, they skip months when the venue double books. last time i queued about 40 min so get there closer to open

Went on a Friday last month, crowd skews young and the music leans Italo and early house, so go before midnight if you want room to dance.

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down
Image elise local ·

yeah the before midnight thing is real, they stop letting people in around 1:30 too so dont roll up late

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

Image annalies local ·

crowd thins out hard after 2 too, so midnight timing is spot on
