Has anyone been to a show there in 2026, and is it worth carving out an hour on a Saturday? Trying to figure out if it's a quick browse or somewhere you'd linger.

If you mean the little space on the second floor off Kanda's main drag, it's a browse rather than a linger. Shows rotate roughly monthly and the room is one tatami-ish stretch, so 20 minutes covers it. Saturday hours are patchy, often 12 to 5, and they close between installations. Check the current show before you commit an hour.

Fair, though the second floor stairwell entrance is easy to miss, look for the small sign next to the coffee stand.

Agree, though the coffee stand closes at 3.

Twenty minutes is generous honestly, that back room past the stamp shop is basically a corridor, and they usually wrap by 4 even on open days.

yeah the rotation thing is real, last time I went the walls were bare because they were mid-swap. owner's usually around weekday afternoons if you want to catch him. worth a peek but dont build a morning around it.

Second floor is the stamp shop's, gallery's up the back stairs

Check hours on their Instagram first, they sometimes only open Wed to Fri afternoons, so Saturday can be a gamble.

Where to see a doctor in Tokyo for a skin check in 2026

Does anyone know a good dermatology clinic near The Spot that takes Japanese health insurance, and what a visit typically costs without a referral?
arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

Any changing mole, skip the walk in clinics and get a 紹介状 from your かかりつけ医 first, it saves you the 選定療養費 surcharge at bigger hospitals. Costs maybe 2,000 yen for the letter. Worth it if they end up doing a biopsy.

exactly, and ask for the 診療情報提供書 version, that's what hospitals actually want

Image finchen local ·

Honestly just go to a university hospital derm dept if the mole's changing, they biopsy on site. Tokyo Medical and Dental has a good one. Without a referral it's maybe 5,000 to 8,000 yen first visit, insurance covers the rest.

Agree on the biopsy part, but ring the dermatology desk directly and ask if they take 紹介状なし patients that week. Some departments quietly turn you away, and the 選定療養費 only applies at 200+ bed hospitals anyway.

they do dermoscopy there too, ask for it

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down
Image finchen local ·

good call on teh dermoscopy, it's usually free with insurance. just dont expect a same day biopsy tho.
