For a few months, look at the "Specified Visa: Designated Activities" route, usually through a language school sponsor. Rejections almost always come from thin bank statements or a mismatched purpose in your application. Skip the Shibuya charcoal place, it's a tourist trap.

yeah the bank statement thing is real, they want 6 months of history not just a fat balance on the day. Also apply at the immigration bureau in Shinagawa, not city hall, people waste weeks on that mixup.

arrow_drop_up 12 arrow_drop_down

certificate of eligibility first, that's the real delay

bank statements also need the bank's stamp or a printed transaction history, pdf printouts alone get bounced at the counter. and keep copies of everything, they dont hand stuff back. the shibuya grill thing is overpriced btw

Image hanna local ·

the purpose mismatch one is underrated, write ur itinerary to match the sponsor

Match the zairyu card address too, ward office checks it.

mine got bounced over a missing hanko on the guarantor form

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

Sponsor's CoE needs their 登記簿謄本 and your school contract matching exact dates, that's where most mismatches start.

Language school route only works if they actually enroll u full time, part time courses dont qualify for the visa.

guardian or spouse visa skips that whole route

Where to find wildlife near Nature Park in Tokyo 2026

The park's own nature center posts a seasonal wildlife list at the entrance, and it's worth checking before you go since the sightings change month to month. Anyone know if the winter bird counts are still happening there in 2026?

Winter counts run through early Feb, Sundays 7am.

Meet at the east gate, bring binoculars.

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

Image katrina local ·

oh nice, do u know if they still meet at the nature center first or just head straight out?

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

they gather by the map board inside the entrance first, then split into two groups

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

Image katrina local ·

Do they still start at the nature center or just head out from the east gate?

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Image cirsten local ·

Counts usually wrap up the second weekend of February, so check the notice board by the pond gate before you trek out. Last season they cancelled one date for rain and posted the makeup on the center's door.

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

notice board moved to the west gate last month

Image hanna local ·

last i heard they shifted to saturdays same time, so double check before u head out

The tanuki around the wooded edges are pretty active at dusk, more than people expect. Bring a small torch and keep quiet near the bamboo.
