Honestly the queue at The Donut Shop moves fast, but DUMBO in Nakameguro is a shorter wait and about 2,000 yen for six.

Higuma Donuts in Kichijoji, get there before 10am.

Floresta, weekday mornings, no queue at all.

Nakameguro branch is takeaway only, no seats.

DUMBO's plain sugar is the move, skip the glazed

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

agreed on the plain sugar, the glazed just tastes like sweet nothing to me. grab the kinako one too if they have it, that's the sleeper pick. go early tho, they tray them out warm around opening.

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

yep but go before noon, they sell out

yeah the queue does move, but the real trick is going after 3pm on a weekday, half the trays are gone but so is the line. also cash only at the counter last i checked, no card

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Image christl local ·

True, though the line at the main shop thins out a lot on rainy days. If you're set on the original branch, go then. Cash only at the counter too.

The Donut Shop is fine but you're paying for the name and the Instagram line. Walk ten minutes to I'm Donut? in Shibuya instead, the lines are shorter and the plain glazed beats most of what you'll find in the city. Half dozen runs about 1,800 to 2,200 yen depending on what you pick. Why anyone queues an hour for fried dough is beyond me.

Best single origin pour over near Roastery No. 7 in 2026?

Anyone know if they still do the Ethiopia on the hand pour or has it moved to the batch brew? Looking for something bright and fruity without the line at the big chains.

The Ethiopia's usually still on hand pour when I've been in, but it rotates fast so check the board before you queue. If it's gone, Koffee Mameya in Omotesando does a bright Kenyan filter worth the trip.

arrow_drop_up 21 arrow_drop_down

yeah the board is the thing to watch, and if it's wiped out, Glitch in Jimbocho pulls a solid fruity filter without the chain crowd

Fair point, though I'd add that Mameya's queue moves quicker right at 10am opening before the Omotesando shoppers arrive.

also worth knowing that hand pour there stops around 6pm so an evening run just gets the batch

Try Fuglen Tomigaya for a bright natural. Go weekday mornings.
