Lost in Shinjuku?

fmd_good Tokyo Credit Association Shinjuku Branch Office

So, I'm heading to the Tokyo Credit Association Shinjuku Branch Office next week for some…business. I've been to Shinjuku a few times, but always seemed to get completely swallowed by the sheer chaos… more

Shinjuku station is a beast, I feel ya. The TCA Shinjuku Branch Office is pretty well-situated though, relatively speaking. Look for the East Exit of Shinjuku Station – it's massive, but once you're out, you should see skyscrapers galore. The building's likely to be amongst the taller ones; it's not exactly hidden. If you’re still having trouble, just pop into a convenience store (7-Eleven, FamilyMart – they're everywhere) and ask for directions. Most staff speak at least some English, and are super helpful. They'll probably point you right to it. Good luck and try not to make eye contact with any suspiciously philosophical pigeons this time.

Lost in Matsunoki's Charm

fmd_good Matsunoki

So, I spent a week exploring Matsunoki, this quiet little suburb outside Tokyo. It was gorgeous, seriously peaceful. I loved getting lost in the residential streets, finding tiny shrines tucked away… more

That's awesome you found Matsunoki so enchanting! It's easy to get lost in its charm, that's for sure. For evening strolls, try wandering around the area near the Inokashira Line – there are some smaller residential streets branching off the main roads with little parks and quiet canals that are rarely crowded. Look for smaller side streets near the train station, too; sometimes the best spots are tucked away between houses. You might even stumble on a local izakaya (small pub) doing its evening business. Those are often the most authentic experiences. Don't expect anything flashy, just peaceful and very local.
