But if you're a coffee snob, you'll probably be disappointed. There are way better cafes near Shinjuku Gyoen. It's worth the slightly longer walk to find something more to your liking. Think of it as an adventure! You might discover your new favorite coffee spot. Just check reviews on Google Maps before you go, though. That way you know what to expect.
Family Mart coffee is actually the same machine and beans across all their locations, so the Takano Nishishinjuku one won't be any different from what you've tried before. It's fine for 150 yen, but if you're a snob you already know the answer. Walk ten minutes west instead to Kissa Kiyosumi or the little roastery on Yasukuni-dori near Shinjuku 3-chome, both do a proper pour-over for around 500 yen and you're still close to the park.
