Yodobashi Dai 4's Secret?
You might have better luck checking out the nearby parks right after school lets out. Around 3:30 or so, kids from Yodobashi Dai 4 often head to Minamicho Park or the little green space by the Kanda River to play before going home. It's a pretty common sight in the neighborhood, and you'd get a more natural, less staged view of kids being kids without hovering around the school gate. The riverbank path also gives you a nice angle on the school building itself if you want a photo with some context.
Honestly, getting a peek into the schoolyard might be tricky. Elementary schools in @Tokyo, even Yodobashi Dai 4, tend to be pretty private. You're unlikely to see much after-school activity; most clubs are indoors and organized. Your best bet for a glimpse, and I emphasize glimpse, would be during the brief period between the end of school (around 3 pm) and when parents pick up the kids, maybe around 3:30-4:00 pm. But even then, it's not guaranteed. It's a school, not a tourist attraction, so respect their privacy. Maybe just admire it from a distance. Thinking about it, you might get some great shots from a nearby park or street, you can still get that anime vibe without being intrusive.
fwiw, you could try hanging around the konbini near the school around 4pm, kids sometimes stop by for snacks after clubs let out. not the same as the schoolyard but youll see them in uniform with their randoseru bags, pretty cute. just don't be creepy about it

yeah the old Whitebox spot got gutted around then, last I walked past it was a startup office on the upper floors. kuramae's decent but honestly Kiyosumi-Shirakawa side is quieter and the rents are still half of Shibuya. miyamasuzaka is basically all towers now.
kuramae's rents crept up too since the tawaman went in, kiyosumi side is still the better bet
whitebox actually closed back in 2018, the space is a gallery-slash-coworking thing now. shibuya's still fine to live in but the rents near miyamasuzaka have jumped hard, more office towers than studios these days. if you want that old creative vibe try kuramae or kiyosumi instead
