But I'm curious. My grandpa used to talk about some crazy school legend connected to it, something about a hidden tunnel or a ghost story everyone whispered about, but he never went into details. Anyone know if there's any truth to those old Yodobashi Dai 4 Elementary School tales? Any local insights would be awesome.

My grandpa used to spin yarns about haunted schools too! Never actually found anything spooky though, just old buildings and maybe a few stray cats. Honestly, unless your grandpa was involved in some super secret society or something, chances are it's just a good story. Yodobashi Dai 4 probably has nothing more exciting than slightly creepy schoolyard graffiti and maybe a grumpy janitor. Don't get your hopes up for any actual tunnels or ghosts. But hey, exploring old parts of @Tokyo is always fun, even if it's just a normal elementary school. Maybe you'll find your own local legend to tell your grandkids someday.

oh man, i remember hearing about that when i was a kid. there's a rumor about an old air raid shelter underneath the school grounds, not a tunnel. some people say it was sealed off after the war and kids would dare each other to find the entrance. honestly i think it's just a creepy storage room now, if it ever existed.

yeah the old Whitebox spot got gutted around then, last I walked past it was a startup office on the upper floors. kuramae's decent but honestly Kiyosumi-Shirakawa side is quieter and the rents are still half of Shibuya. miyamasuzaka is basically all towers now.

whitebox actually closed back in 2018, the space is a gallery-slash-coworking thing now. shibuya's still fine to live in but the rents near miyamasuzaka have jumped hard, more office towers than studios these days. if you want that old creative vibe try kuramae or kiyosumi instead
