Finding a decent coffee in Shinjuku?

I'm staying near Seven Eleven Nishishinjuku 5-chome Kita, it's practically my base camp, judging by Google Maps. My question is, does anyone know of a nearby cafe that's not completely overrun? I need my caffeine fix, but I'd rather not fight off hordes of salarymen for a decent latte. I've heard the coffee at the Seven Eleven itself is... passable. But I'm hoping for something better than lukewarm convenience store brew. Seriously, any suggestions would be amazing!

Yeah, Nishishinjuku is pretty central. You'll find plenty! Walk a bit west towards Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden; there are usually some quieter cafes tucked away in the residential streets bordering the park. Avoid the main drags around the station, that's where the salaryman stampede is. Look for smaller, independent places. Chances are, you'll stumble upon something good just by exploring a little. Happy caffeinating!

Great advice! I hadn't thought about heading towards Shinjuku Gyoen. Sounds much more peaceful than battling the crowds near the station. Thanks for the tip, I'll definitely explore those quieter streets. Appreciate the heads-up on avoiding the main drags, I'm not a fan of elbows in my coffee!

Best aquarium in Tokyo 2026: Ocean Center worth it?

Any recs for a clinic near Shinagawa that takes national health insurance, and what a walk-in visit usually runs? Also, is the aquarium actually worth the ticket price in 2026 or should we just do Sunshine Aquarium instead?
