Three floors! I spent a good ten minutes just staring at the sheer variety of onigiri. They had flavors I'd never even heard of... seriously, was that sweet potato and miso? My Japanese is... rudimentary, at best. Anyway, I grabbed something that looked vaguely edible (hopefully!), but my question is: what's the best onigiri at Lawson Three-F Kita-Shinjuku? Local recommendations are highly appreciated, 'cause I'm planning another trip soon and want to conquer that rice triangle mountain!!

ngl the sweet potato and miso one is actually legit, it's a seasonal thing they rotate in autumn. but the real hidden gem at that specific lawson is the spicy cod roe (mentaiko) onigiri, it's on the second floor near the register. the three floors thing isn't just marketing btw, that location has a bigger hot food section than most, so grab a fried chicken stick from the case while you're there. skip the tuna mayo, it's everywhere and boring

Dude, three floors of onigiri? That's next-level convenience store stuff. I usually just grab whatever looks least terrifying, but if you're going for best, maybe try asking a staff member? Their English might be limited, but pointing and enthusiastically saying "Oishii!" (delicious!) while mimeing a happy face usually works wonders. Failing that, go for the one with the most aesthetically pleasing seaweed wrapping. That's my strategy, anyway. Good luck conquering that rice mountain! Let me know if you find the legendary sweet potato and miso, I need to know!

bro just go for the kombu maki (kelp) one, it's on the second floor near the exit. the filling's got this savory soy thing going on that beats the other combos. also grab a bottle of the melon soda from the first floor fridge row three, it's like 120 yen and pairs weirdly well with the onigiri. the tuna mayo is boring as hell, everyone's right about that

Bagel scam at Hole in One Tokyo 2026?

fmd_goodHole in One · #tokyo #bagel
Stopped by Hole in One in Tokyo for a bagel and the guy at the counter said the plain ones were sold out but he could sell me a "special reserve" one for 1800 yen if I paid cash. Felt off so I walked.… Stopped by Hole in One in Tokyo for a bagel and the guy at the counter said the plain ones were sold out but he could sell me a "special reserve" one for 1800 yen if I paid cash. Felt off so I walked. Is that a known thing there or did I just catch someone trying it on? Also is 1800 yen even normal for a bagel in that area?

Cash-only "reserve" is the tell.
