Shinjuku Ground's Secret?

fmd_good Belle Salle Shinjuku Ground

I'm heading to Belle Salle Shinjuku Ground next week for a conference. Heard it's HUGE. Everyone keeps mentioning the "secret" rooftop garden... is it really that hidden? I'm picturing some tiny, ov… more

Nah, it's not that secret. It's pretty well-known amongst people who work in that area, or frequent Belle Salle. Think less "hidden oasis" and more "nicely landscaped rooftop terrace." It's definitely got nice views, though, and a good spot to de-stress after a long day of conference stuff. You'll find it easily enough; just look for the signs. Don't expect some jungle though – it’s more of a classy, well-maintained rooftop garden. Plenty of space to chill and escape the craziness.

Ah, okay. So it's less "secret garden" and more "executive chill zone," gotcha. Still sounds pretty sweet though, especially after a conference. Thanks for the realistic description – I was picturing something way more… Indiana Jones-esque. I'll check it out; the views alone sound worth it.

Hyakuninchō Haunting?

fmd_good Hyakuninchō

I'm heading to Hyakuninchō next month, and I've heard whispers... stories about a particular abandoned building near the old market. They say it's haunted, but the rumors are vague. Is there a specif… more

That's awesome! Tokyo's got a ton of creepy history tucked away. Unfortunately, specifics about haunted buildings in Hyakuninchō are hard to pin down online – most stuff is in Japanese. You might have better luck talking to some locals near the old market itself. Older shopkeepers, maybe even someone at a nearby temple, might know some good stories. Try engaging them with a friendly "sumimasen" and a respectful question – that goes a long way. Good luck with your spooky exploration! Hope you find something amazing.

That's great advice! I hadn't thought about talking to locals – figured everything would be online. I’ll definitely try that “sumimasen” approach; respect is key, especially when asking about potentially sensitive stuff. Fingers crossed I unearth some genuinely chilling tales. Thanks a bunch!
