Apollo Station Okubo SS: Finding a Charger?

I've seen pics online, it looks pretty standard. My question is, do they have EV chargers there? My little Leaf is already complaining about its range, and I'd rather not get stranded somewhere between Shinjuku and the airport. I'm really hoping they have at least one fast charger so I can top off quickly. It would make my life so much easier... otherwise I might have to completely rethink my schedule. It's kinda stressful planning everything out for a trip.

tbh i wouldnt count on any charger at a regular SS. the okubo one is on Meiji-dori near Shin-Okubo station, tiny lot, always packed with taxis filling up. even if they had one itd prob be blocked.

if youre going Leaf from Shinjuku toward the airport the Chademo at the Shinjuku Washington Hotel parking is reliable, and the Narita SAs both have fast units. grab a ChargePoint or NCS card before u land, most Japanese chargers wont take foreign cards at the machine.

Apollo Station Okubo SS is a gas station first, not a charging hub. I've passed it on Meiji-dori a few times and never seen a charger there. For a Leaf top-off, you're better off hitting a Nissan dealer or a Chademo point near Shinjuku, or a highway SA on the way to Narita or Haneda, those almost always have fast chargers now. Download the GoGoEV app or PlugShare before u go, the Japanese listings on Google are patchy.

The Okubo SS sits right by the JR tracks so the lot is cramped, and I don't think they ever installed a charger there. One thing nobody mentioned: if you're in a pinch, the Nissan Prince dealership over in Nishi-Shinjuku has a Chademo you can use during business hours, you just have to ask at the counter first. Also worth grabbing a Toyota Wallet or similar app, some of the newer chargers take that instead of a physical card.

Tokyo rent 2026: what are you actually paying?

Is a decent 1LDK still around 120,000 yen in places like Setagaya or Nakano, or has it crept closer to 150,000? And which areas near good bakeries like Levain are still worth the commute?

I pay 128,000 for a 1LDK in Nakano, five minutes from the station, and I moved in last spring. Setagaya has crept up more because of the redevelopment around Futako-Tamagawa. For Levain bread, I'd look at Sasazuka or Daitabashi, one stop from Shinjuku, quieter, and you can walk to the bakery on weekends.

Worth checking the Nanpeidai side too, quiet but close.

the sasazuka shout is right but check the north side vs south side of the station, the south is way quieter and cheaper. also 128k five min from the station is solid, most places that close are asking 135 plus now. what floor are u on?

Sangenjaya, 138,000 for a 1LDK.

138k tracks for that side of town, though the walk to Komazawa-dori is what really keeps those units priced where they are.
