Finding the best Onigiri?

Seriously, people rave about it online. I'm planning on hitting it up on my first day, but I'm worried about selection overload! There are so many options, how do I even begin to choose? Do locals have any secret tips for navigating the onigiri labyrinth, or is it just a case of pointing and praying? I need a survival guide... or at least a recommendation for a killer salmon one. Hopefully, my Japanese is decent enough to order properly. Wish me luck!

Don't worry, Lawson's onigiri selection is overwhelming, even for us locals! Pointing and praying is definitely a valid strategy, haha. But seriously, look for the ones with pictures that look extra appealing, the ones that are glistening a little, maybe with some extra seaweed or filling showing. That usually means they're fresh. Also, don't underestimate the classic salmon, they often have a really good one. If you see "shiozake" (塩鮭) on the label, go for it; it's salted salmon and usually delicious. And if you're feeling adventurous, try a seasonal one! They always have a few specials. Have fun! You'll survive the onigiri onslaught.

Haha, pointing and praying, that's exactly what I was picturing myself doing! Thanks for the tips, especially the shiozake recommendation; I'll keep an eye out for that. Seasonal ones sound exciting too. I might just need to make multiple trips to Lawson's then... This is way more helpful than I expected. Thanks again!

Best donuts near Glaze in Tokyo 2026?

I'm visiting Tokyo in 2026 and Glaze keeps coming up in donut searches. Is it worth making the trip for, and what should I order on a first visit? I'm visiting Tokyo in 2026 and Glaze keeps coming up in donut searches. Is it worth making the trip for, and what should I order on a first visit?

Order the plain glazed first, skip the seasonal.

Weekends sell out by noon, go before 10

the matcha azuki one at their old Tomigaya spot was the sleeper hit, but honestly the line at 9am on weekends runs 40 minutes so go on a weekday
