I've heard legends about the Lawson convenience stores, especially the one on Okubo-dori near Shinjuku, Lawson Three-F Okubo-dori, they call it. My flight gets in late, and I'm planning on grabbing a bite at this specific Lawson after I check in. What's the weirdest or most unexpectedly delicious thing I should try there at, like, 2 AM? I've seen some crazy stuff online, but I need the inside scoop from someone who actually knows...

eh the oden pot is the move honestly, everyone's said the nikuman and chicken but that soy broth with the daikon and a boiled egg, it's like a warm blanket. grab the konnyaku too if it's still floating in there, it's chewy and zero calories so u can pretend ur being healthy at 2am. also that lawson's got the weirdest ice cream selection, the one in the freezer with the little cartoon cow on it, it's like a soft serve tube that's half vanilla half melon, sounds cursed but it's stupidly good. staff at the counter will def let u eat by the window, they're used to it. if ur feeling bold the canned corn potage from the hot shelf is basically liquid butter, don't get it unless ur ready to pass out happy

okay so everyone's gonna say onigiri or chicken but the real move at that exact lawson is the frozen dessert section. the mochi ice cream is whatever, but they have these little yuzu sorbet cups that are stupid refreshing after a long flight. also grab the hot corn soup from the machine near the counter, it's salty and sweet and weirdly perfect at 2am. and if you're feeling brave, the nikuman (steamed pork bun) in the warmer is way better than it has any right to be. just don't touch the "premium" sandwiches, those are a trap.

your best bet at that specific lawson is the egg sando and the hot milk from the vending machine by the door. not the carton milk, the one that pours into a tiny paper cup, it's weirdly comforting at 2am. the sando is the square one with the crusts cut off, the yolk's almost custardy and the bread's pillowy, it's a whole vibe after a flight. also that store's got a small shelf of regional snacks, check for the wasanbon sugar cookies from kagawa, they're delicate and melt in your mouth, totally different from the usual konbini junk. the staff there are pretty chill, they'll let u sit on the little bench by the window even if u didn't buy much. just don't bother with the fancy ice cream, it's overpriced and the cheap popsicle sticks are the real deal.

Where can I find crispy, pan-fried bacon similar to a certain international style?

if u have a costco membership the kirkland thick cut is the move, 4 packs of 500g for around 2500 yen and it crisps up proper in a cold pan. for smaller runs, precce in azabudai hills & the basement at isetan shinjuku both carry imported US & danish brands in the chilled case, just read the label for "thick cut" or "smoked" and not "loin". also worth knowing japanese bacon is often wet-cured so pat it dry before frying or it steams instead of crisping

kaldi coffee farm is hit or miss but their smoked bacon from denmark shows up pretty regular, the 200g pack runs about 600 yen. what actually works better for me is asking the butcher counter at peacock or life to slice the block bacon thick, like 5mm, they do it for free and it crisps way better than the pre-packed stuff. also fwiw cheap bacon crisps faster, the fatty supermarket kind at 300 yen a pack works fine if u cook it from cold in a dry pan and pour off the fat as it renders.

tbh the gyomu super store brand bacon is surprisingly decent for crisping up, its not thick cut but if you cook it low and slow it gets pretty crunchy. the key is the dry cure vs wet cure thing, wet cure steams. also check hanamasa if you have one nearby, they sell big packs of american style bacon thats actually smoked and firm.
