Thing is, that Lawson is always buzzing. Any tips for finding a relatively quiet corner to eat my lunch inside before I head to the park? I hate eating on the go...

Lawson's notoriously busy, especially that one. Maybe try finding a bench near the Lawson, but outside? Shinjuku Gyoen is huge; you could easily find a peaceful spot to eat once you're inside, too. Alternatively, there are smaller convenience stores nearby, maybe a FamilyMart or a 7-Eleven a block or two away might be less crowded. Worth a quick scout before committing to the Lawson.

just duck into the Shinjuku post office across the street, there's a tiny lobby with a few chairs by the vending machines. it's dead quiet and nobody cares if you eat there, i do it all the time when i need a breather

head up the stairs in the lumine 2 building, there's a small seating area by the window on the 3rd floor that most tourists miss. it's literally a 2 minute walk from that lawson and usually has a couple empty stools. the onigiri will still be warm and you get a decent view of the tracks below

Best donuts near Glaze in Tokyo 2026?

I'm visiting Tokyo in 2026 and Glaze keeps coming up in donut searches. Is it worth making the trip for, and what should I order on a first visit? I'm visiting Tokyo in 2026 and Glaze keeps coming up in donut searches. Is it worth making the trip for, and what should I order on a first visit?

Order the plain glazed first, skip the seasonal.

Weekends sell out by noon, go before 10

the matcha azuki one at their old Tomigaya spot was the sleeper hit, but honestly the line at 9am on weekends runs 40 minutes so go on a weekday
