Shinjuku's Secret?

Seriously, what's the actual best way to sneak a peek at the city skyline from inside the building without being, like, totally obvious? I heard there's some sneaky little spot near the elevators... any insider tips?

Haha, Belle Salle Shinjuku Ground, huh? That place is a beast. Forget sneaky spots near elevators, that's tourist trap level thinking. The best view? Head to the restrooms on the top floor. Seriously. They're usually pretty empty, and the windows are HUGE. You get a panoramic view without looking like you're trying too hard. Bonus points if you pretend to admire the, uh, architecture. It's a win-win.

Genius! I never would have thought of that. The whole "secret view" thing usually feels so contrived, but the bathroom angle? Slick. I'm totally trying this next time I'm in Tokyo. Thanks for the tip!

ngl the bathroom trick is solid but if you want something even more lowkey, hit the smoking area on the 15th floor. it's this tiny balcony tucked around the corner from the vending machines, barely anyone uses it during conferences. you get a killer view of the city and mount fuji on a clear day, just pretend you're on a phone call or something

honestly just take the stairs up a floor or two from the main conference area. there's this weird little hallway with a window that faces west. nobody uses it cause it's kinda hidden behind a fire door. gets u a solid view without the bathroom awkwardness

Tokyo Sunday Market 2026: What to Expect

fmd_goodSunday Market · #food #tokyo #market
I'm visiting Tokyo in 2026 and heard the Sunday markets are worth checking out. What can I expect to find there, and are they more of a food thing or a flea market vibe? Takahata Fudoson's monthly tekiichi on the 28th is smaller but way less picked over, mostly old tools and dishware from local families.

Depends which market you mean: Oedo Antique Market at Yoyogi is proper antiques, while Sun Road in Kichijoji is food and knick-knacks.

Fair, though the real sleeper is the shrine flea markets like Hanazono Jinja on the third Sunday, mostly locals digging through old kimonos and ceramics.

honestly the ones by the river are more my speed, mostly food stalls and cheap vintage clothes. bring cash cuz half teh vendors won't take cards. go early before noon or it gets picked over
