Lost in Translation?

The view from the observation deck was insane, seriously breathtaking, but I got completely turned around trying to find the actual entrance to the building itself after. It's like a maze of hallways and security checks. Anyone else have a similar experience navigating that place? What's the best way in, next time I'll be better prepared...

Honestly the signage could be a lot better. I usually go in from the north side near the Shinjuku Central Park, there's a small entrance that leads straight to the elevator bank without all the security theater. It's a bit of a walk from the station but you skip the crowds and the maze.

The trick is to go in through the basement level connected to Tochomae Station. You take the Toei Oedo Line exit A1 and you're basically inside the building's lower concourse, then just follow the signs for the elevator lobby. The ground floor entrances are a mess, especially around the bus terminal side.

imo the easiest way is to just come from the south side, near the Kenchomae bus stop. there's a door that looks like a service entrance but it's actually the public one for the observation deck elevators. no security check nonsense, just straight to the 33rd floor lifts. takes maybe 2 minutes from the street

Best donuts near Glaze in Tokyo 2026?

I'm visiting Tokyo in 2026 and Glaze keeps coming up in donut searches. Is it worth making the trip for, and what should I order on a first visit? I'm visiting Tokyo in 2026 and Glaze keeps coming up in donut searches. Is it worth making the trip for, and what should I order on a first visit?

Order the plain glazed first, skip the seasonal.

Pistachio cream, actually worth the detour.

Glaze moved to Kichijoji, go early.

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

yeah the new spot's a 5 min walk from the north exit

Weekends sell out by noon, go before 10

North exit works, but the counter opens at 10.

10am opening, not 9. Learned that one hard.

the matcha azuki one at their old Tomigaya spot was the sleeper hit, but honestly the line at 9am on weekends runs 40 minutes so go on a weekday

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

matcha azuki got dropped from the lineup after the move so don't go chasing it

Line still forms before the shutters, weekday or not.
