Is it sterile and corporate, or does it have any character? I'm hoping for something a bit less... soulless than your average conference hall. I'm picturing myself lost in the labyrinthine corridors, trying to find the right breakout room, only to stumble upon some hidden bar or secret performance space. Anyone been? Spill the tea!

It's pretty much what you'd expect from a large-scale conference venue in a major city like Tokyo. Lots of polished concrete, maybe some tasteful minimalist art, that kind of thing. Don't expect secret bars or anything, though. Think less "hidden speakeasy" and more "efficiently designed for thousands of attendees." The corridors are definitely long, but well-signposted, getting lost shouldn't be a problem. The overall vibe is definitely more corporate than quirky, but not aggressively so. It's functional, clean, and professional. You'll be fine.

Tokyo Sunday Market 2026: What to Expect

fmd_goodSunday Market · #food #tokyo #market
I'm visiting Tokyo in 2026 and heard the Sunday markets are worth checking out. What can I expect to find there, and are they more of a food thing or a flea market vibe? Takahata Fudoson's monthly tekiichi on the 28th is smaller but way less picked over, mostly old tools and dishware from local families.

Depends which market you mean: Oedo Antique Market at Yoyogi is proper antiques, while Sun Road in Kichijoji is food and knick-knacks.

Fair, though the real sleeper is the shrine flea markets like Hanazono Jinja on the third Sunday, mostly locals digging through old kimonos and ceramics.

honestly the ones by the river are more my speed, mostly food stalls and cheap vintage clothes. bring cash cuz half teh vendors won't take cards. go early before noon or it gets picked over
