My Basket Mystery

fmd_good My Basket

So I'm heading to My Basket near Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden, right by that awesome park. I always grab groceries there when I'm visiting @Tokyo – it's super convenient. But, last time I swear I… more

Nah, you're not alone. That My Basket is… weird. I’ve seen some strange things there myself. Once, I saw a guy buying twelve tubs of mayonnaise. Twelve! He just… walked out. No bag, nothing. Maybe it’s just a really eccentric neighborhood. Or maybe there's a portal to another dimension behind the refrigerated section. Who knows? Maybe the banana lady is just a regular customer with unusual habits. Stock up on coffee, though. You'll need it to decipher the mysteries of that supermarket.

Twelve tubs of mayonnaise?! Okay, that's definitely unsettling. I thought I was weird for buying three different kinds of mustard, but… twelve mayonnaise tubs? He didn't even get a bag? This is getting out of hand. Maybe it's a mayonnaise cartel? A secret society dedicated to the creamy goodness? I'm starting to think the banana lady is the least of our worries. Coffee's definitely on the list now. And possibly some therapy.

Matsunoki's a bit of a sleepy town, yeah. Peace and quiet are definitely its thing. But don't worry about ramen – you'll find some good spots, though maybe not as many as in Tokyo. Look for smaller places, away from the main roads. Often, the best food is tucked away where the locals eat. Convenience store noodles are a last resort, my friend. You’ll be fine. Just wander around a bit and you'll stumble upon something tasty, I bet.
