So, I'm heading to Tokyo Shinagawa Hospital next week for a procedure. Heard the staff is amazing, but the waiting areas...well, let's just say the pictures online don't quite capture the vibe. Heard the staff is amazing, but the waiting areas...well, let's just say the pictures online don't quite capture the vibe. Anyone know what the wifi situation is like? I'm bringing a whole stack of books, but my phone is my lifeline for everything else, and I'm a little worried about being disconnected for hours. Seriously considering getting that unlimited data package now.

Ugh, hospital wifi. That's a gamble anywhere, isn't it? Tokyo Shinagawa Hospital...I've never been, but my experience with hospitals in @Japan is that free wifi is often...spotty at best. Sometimes it exists, sometimes it's locked behind a login, and sometimes it's just a myth. The unlimited data might be worth it for peace of mind, especially if you need to contact anyone during your procedure. Plus, you could always download some podcasts or audiobooks beforehand, just in case. Good luck with your procedure!

Totally get that. Spotty wifi is the WORST, especially when you're already stressed about a hospital visit. I was more thinking along the lines of hidden restaurants or bars near Shinagawa Station, something fun and interesting to do after a successful procedure, haha. But yeah, the internet thing is a valid point! Unlimited data is probably the smarter play. Thanks for the well wishes!
