My concern is getting around. Public transport seems okay on maps, but I'm worried about finding less-traveled paths, little side streets, you know, the stuff that makes a place truly memorable. Any tips from locals on navigating the quieter corners? Will I get hopelessly lost trying to explore the less-obvious bits?

Naitomachi's charm is in its dead ends and sudden turns, honestly. If you want the real hidden stuff, leave your phone in your pocket and look for the little stone paths or staircases that cut between houses, there are a few that lead down to the Kanda River. You won't get hopelessly lost, the neighborhood is small enough that you'll always hit a main road like Meiji-dori or Shinjuku-dori within a ten minute walk. I'd suggest starting at the Naitomachi Shrine, then just follow any side street that looks like it hasn't been paved in fifty years.

Honestly the best way to find the quiet bits is to just follow the cats. No joke, there's a ton of stray cats that know all the best hidden alleyways and tiny gardens. You'll never get truly lost, the area's too small for that, but you might end up in someone's private courtyard if you're not paying attention. Just be polite and turn back if it looks like a house entrance

Nah, Naitomachi's pretty easy to navigate, even the less-obvious bits. It's not sprawling like some parts of Tokyo. Just use Google Maps, it's surprisingly accurate there, even for tiny streets. Get yourself a Pocket WiFi or a local SIM, though; data's essential. Don't be afraid to wander, that's half the fun! You'll stumble on some cool stuff. If you really get turned around, just ask someone; people are generally helpful. Worst case scenario, you'll end up at a cute little ramen shop. Consider it a happy accident.
