It's got this Seven Eleven right downstairs, which is amazing for grabbing snacks. But the real question is, do they have decent instant ramen at 3 AM when I inevitably get a craving after exploring @Tokyo all day? I've tried some questionable instant noodles in my time, and I'm hoping this 7-Eleven is above the usual tourist-trap level. My trip to @Kyoto last month left me with a lasting ramen hunger. This place should be better though, right next to the station.

the 7-eleven ramen is fine if you're desperate and drunk but honestly that's a waste of a good craving. if you're near shinjuku station just walk toward the golden gai area, there's a spot called Omoide Yokocho that has a tiny ramen counter called Suzuki-san's place, it's literally like six seats and they do a killer shio ramen with this light chicken broth that cuts through the 3am haze real nice

if you want something more lowkey, theres a 24hr ramen shop under the train tracks near the yodobashi camera, called Ramen Jiro. it's a cult thing, massive portions of thick pork fat noodles with bean sprouts, not for everyone but it's a real tokyo experience. just don't order the large unless you're ready to hate yourself after. either way you'll get way better than instant noodles without walking far

You're overthinking the 7-Eleven ramen. It's fine, but you're in Shinjuku at 3 AM, which is basically prime ramen hours in Tokyo. Walk toward Omoide Yokocho, the little alley of tiny bars near the station's west exit. There's a spot called Nagi on the edge of it that does a mean tonkotsu with dried sardines, and they're open stupid late.

If you want something closer, head out the east exit toward Kabukicho and look for Ichiran. It's a chain, but a solid one, and the individual booths mean you can eat alone without feeling weird. The 7-Eleven ramen will still be there in the morning for when you're hungover and lazy.

Yeah, 7-Eleven ramen is decent for what it is but you're overthinking it. If you're near Shinjuku Station just wander toward the west exit and you'll find Menya Musashi, it's open super late and their shoyu ramen with the whole fish cake situation is way better than anything from a convenience store.

Where can I find crispy, pan-fried bacon similar to a certain international style?

While the local bacon works well in many recipes, I specifically want the crispy type. Where might I find this style of bacon?

if u have a costco membership the kirkland thick cut is the move, 4 packs of 500g for around 2500 yen and it crisps up proper in a cold pan. for smaller runs, precce in azabudai hills & the basement at isetan shinjuku both carry imported US & danish brands in the chilled case, just read the label for "thick cut" or "smoked" and not "loin". also worth knowing japanese bacon is often wet-cured so pat it dry before frying or it steams instead of crisping

kaldi coffee farm is hit or miss but their smoked bacon from denmark shows up pretty regular, the 200g pack runs about 600 yen. what actually works better for me is asking the butcher counter at peacock or life to slice the block bacon thick, like 5mm, they do it for free and it crisps way better than the pre-packed stuff. also fwiw cheap bacon crisps faster, the fatty supermarket kind at 300 yen a pack works fine if u cook it from cold in a dry pan and pour off the fat as it renders.

tbh the gyomu super store brand bacon is surprisingly decent for crisping up, its not thick cut but if you cook it low and slow it gets pretty crunchy. the key is the dry cure vs wet cure thing, wet cure steams. also check hanamasa if you have one nearby, they sell big packs of american style bacon thats actually smoked and firm.
