I wandered out around 2 am, completely famished, and found this 7-Eleven. It was surprisingly well-stocked, even at that hour. I grabbed some onigiri, but honestly, I was craving ramen. They had these pre-packaged cups, but I'm wondering... do any of the nearby restaurants deliver, or is that a fantasy at 2am in @Tokyo?

delivery at 2am in shinjuku is basically a myth tbh, even uber eats dies around midnight. but forget delivery, just walk towards the east exit of shinjuku station. there's a spot called ichiran near the big tokyu hands that's open 24/7, or if u want something more local, try nagi on the golden gai edge, they do that insane shrimp tonkotsu and it hits different at 3am. honestly the 7-11 onigiri was a fine call for tonight, but save ur craving for a proper bowl when ur awake enough to enjoy it

skip the delivery thing entirely, even the 24h places on uber eats ghost u after 1am. since ur by daiwa roynet, just cut through the kabukicho side streets, there's a menya itto satellite spot that does tsukemen till 4am, the broth's thick as hell and perfect for that weird 2am brain fog. if that's closed, the 7-11 egg salad onigiri was actually the right move, their frozen chashu buns in the hot case are underrated too. honestly the real pro tip is to crash now and hit the 24h mutekiya in okubo around 6am when the first batch of noodles comes out, that's when it's actually worth the walk

Dude, 2 AM ramen in Shinjuku? That's totally doable. While delivery at that hour might be hit or miss, there are always ramen shops open late around Shinjuku Station. You just gotta walk a bit. Seriously, it's like a 24/7 ramen battleground there. Your best bet is to just head towards the station, you'll stumble upon something, even if it's not exactly delivery. Don't worry, jet lag cravings are a serious condition and ramen is the cure.

if u have a costco membership the kirkland thick cut is the move, 4 packs of 500g for around 2500 yen and it crisps up proper in a cold pan. for smaller runs, precce in azabudai hills & the basement at isetan shinjuku both carry imported US & danish brands in the chilled case, just read the label for "thick cut" or "smoked" and not "loin". also worth knowing japanese bacon is often wet-cured so pat it dry before frying or it steams instead of crisping

kaldi coffee farm is hit or miss but their smoked bacon from denmark shows up pretty regular, the 200g pack runs about 600 yen. what actually works better for me is asking the butcher counter at peacock or life to slice the block bacon thick, like 5mm, they do it for free and it crisps way better than the pre-packed stuff. also fwiw cheap bacon crisps faster, the fatty supermarket kind at 300 yen a pack works fine if u cook it from cold in a dry pan and pour off the fat as it renders.

tbh the gyomu super store brand bacon is surprisingly decent for crisping up, its not thick cut but if you cook it low and slow it gets pretty crunchy. the key is the dry cure vs wet cure thing, wet cure steams. also check hanamasa if you have one nearby, they sell big packs of american style bacon thats actually smoked and firm.
