I've heard it's HUGE. My friend who lives in @Tokyo says it's used for everything from massive concerts to corporate galas. I'm going for a smaller concert, but I'm worried about the acoustics in a place that big... is it really good for smaller shows or does it just feel cavernous and echoey? Hopefully it's not like some other huge places ive been to, you know, where the sound kinda just gets lost. I really wanna enjoy the music!

honestly it depends on the band but belle salle is way better than it looks from the outside, they've got those acoustic panels on the ceiling so it doesn't get that weird cavern echo u get at like makuhari messe. smaller shows they usually close off part of the hall with curtains, so it feels more intimate than the full capacity, sound stays pretty tight. just grab a spot near the front or by the sound booth, the middle back can get muddy if the bass is heavy. also the foyer is massive, perfect for grabbing a drink before doors, though the konbini across the street is cheaper if ur on a budget

yeah so the thing about belle salle is the stage setup matters more than the room itself. for smaller gigs they'll prob push the stage forward and use those movable wall panels to shrink the space, so it's not like ur shouting into a void. i've seen a couple of indie bands there and the sound was actually pretty crisp, way better than i expected for a venue that also does like wedding expos. one tip: if the show's standing, hang around the center-left, the right side tends to get a weird reflection off the glass wall. and yeah the konbini tip is real, but the lobby bar has this yuzu highball that's worth the splurge if ur not driving.

huh, i think you're overthinking it. i went to a dj set there once and it was fine, sound was decent enough. the size kinda adds to the vibe honestly, like u feel the bass in ur chest. just grab a drink at the lobby first, the lines inside get

if u have a costco membership the kirkland thick cut is the move, 4 packs of 500g for around 2500 yen and it crisps up proper in a cold pan. for smaller runs, precce in azabudai hills & the basement at isetan shinjuku both carry imported US & danish brands in the chilled case, just read the label for "thick cut" or "smoked" and not "loin". also worth knowing japanese bacon is often wet-cured so pat it dry before frying or it steams instead of crisping

kaldi coffee farm is hit or miss but their smoked bacon from denmark shows up pretty regular, the 200g pack runs about 600 yen. what actually works better for me is asking the butcher counter at peacock or life to slice the block bacon thick, like 5mm, they do it for free and it crisps way better than the pre-packed stuff. also fwiw cheap bacon crisps faster, the fatty supermarket kind at 300 yen a pack works fine if u cook it from cold in a dry pan and pour off the fat as it renders.

tbh the gyomu super store brand bacon is surprisingly decent for crisping up, its not thick cut but if you cook it low and slow it gets pretty crunchy. the key is the dry cure vs wet cure thing, wet cure steams. also check hanamasa if you have one nearby, they sell big packs of american style bacon thats actually smoked and firm.
