fwiw the real move is hitting up the ones near train stations that have the little sit-down areas. the one under yurakucho station has a counter with stools where salarymen crush chu-hi at 7am, its a whole vibe. also the fried chicken there stays crispy way longer than most, no clue why
honestly the real test is which one has the best onigiri selection at 2am. this one near shibuya crossing has a whole fridge of rare flavors like mentaiko and aged salmon that i never see anywhere else. also they stock those limited kitkat flavors that tourists go nuts for, saw a guy buy like 15 matcha ones last week
Nah, there are tons more Seven Elevens in @Tokyo. Like, seriously, they're everywhere. This one's just...lucky you found it. They're all pretty well-stocked, though some definitely have more interesting regional stuff than others. You'll find better (or worse!) bento boxes depending on the location and time of day. Keep exploring, you'll stumble on more convenience store nirvana, I'm sure of it. Probably even some smaller ones tucked away that have a totally different vibe.

Takao's trails are open 24h but the cable car doesn't start till 8, so the 6am window only works if you're hiking up from the base.
yeah the base route via kotaku-in is the only way up that early. for tanuki though dont bother climbing, the kobu tunnel path off the otarumi trailhead is where i see them most, headlamp on & quiet
