Depends on the time of day and day of the week. Lunch hour is a total nightmare, avoid it like the plague. Weekends are usually better, but still expect a wait. If it's a particularly important transaction, maybe aim for early morning, just after they open. Otherwise, yeah, plan for it to take a while. Those stories aren't entirely myths, unfortunately. Bring a book.
