Hi everyone, I post this here because the retard*d mods from japanlife subreddit deleted my post by pretending that I'm trying to sell my stuff here.

I will be leaving Japan at the end of January and I need to sell my two monitors and the case of my computer because they are too big to enter in my suitcase and international shiping looks absurdly expensive.

I will buy them again in my country and since I'm quite poor I don't to sell them to stores where they take a half years old monitor that cost 40k for like 10k, that's absurd too.

I wanted to use メルカリ but I can't verify my identity with my resident status and it also seems that they don't send the money on your bank account but instead give you points, and then you have to ask them to send it to you or something like that ?

I'll close my bank account soon so I'm not sure I can use it..

If anyone has an idea it would really help me !

Try Mercari or Yahoo! Auctions. Good luck! Shipping's a beast though, be prepared for that.

Yeah, you could also try posting on Tokyo Craigslist. It's not as busy as the FB groups, but people still browse it and you can do local pickup with cash.

honestly just try facebook marketplace or the sayonara sale groups on fb. lots of people leaving tokyo post there and buyers are used to picking stuff up in person. no shipping hassle, cash in hand, done deal.

mercari takes a 10% cut and yahoo auctions is a pain if your japanese isn't solid. fb groups are way more straightforward for this kinda thing. just meet at a station or something.

if u have a costco membership the kirkland thick cut is the move, 4 packs of 500g for around 2500 yen and it crisps up proper in a cold pan. for smaller runs, precce in azabudai hills & the basement at isetan shinjuku both carry imported US & danish brands in the chilled case, just read the label for "thick cut" or "smoked" and not "loin". also worth knowing japanese bacon is often wet-cured so pat it dry before frying or it steams instead of crisping

kaldi coffee farm is hit or miss but their smoked bacon from denmark shows up pretty regular, the 200g pack runs about 600 yen. what actually works better for me is asking the butcher counter at peacock or life to slice the block bacon thick, like 5mm, they do it for free and it crisps way better than the pre-packed stuff. also fwiw cheap bacon crisps faster, the fatty supermarket kind at 300 yen a pack works fine if u cook it from cold in a dry pan and pour off the fat as it renders.

tbh the gyomu super store brand bacon is surprisingly decent for crisping up, its not thick cut but if you cook it low and slow it gets pretty crunchy. the key is the dry cure vs wet cure thing, wet cure steams. also check hanamasa if you have one nearby, they sell big packs of american style bacon thats actually smoked and firm.
