Hello,

I am looking for a bar where it can host up to about 80 people after the wedding.

Preferably a place like LP bar where the guest can go up to the staff and request songs.

I have been doing my own research such as 'Common' from Roppongi (but dates were already taken) but wanted to hear others' suggestions.

Thank you.

Try Lost in Nishi-Azabu. It's a basement spot off the main drag that does buyouts for 80 standing easily, and the whole concept is built around a communal vinyl setup where guests can thumb through the crates and hand records to the bartender. The sound is warm but not deafening, so people can actually talk. Another one is The Public Six in Roppongi, tucked behind the Hard Rock on the sixth floor of a boring office building. They have a long counter and a DJ booth that people can walk up to, and the buyout price is reasonable for that many heads.

honestly for 80 people in central Tokyo you're gonna struggle finding a bar that's not a total shit show. LP bar style places are rare cuz most bars here are tiny. have you checked out Bar Martha in Shibuya? it's a bit hidden off Dogenzaka but they do buyouts for parties that size. the layout is weirdly spacious for Tokyo and the staff actually let guests queue up songs at the counter. another option is The Open Book in Nishi-Azabu, it's got that same vinyl dj booth vibe where people can walk up and request stuff. they prob do 80 ppl standing but you'd need to email them early.

have you looked at two rooms in aoyama? it's not exactly a bar, more of a lounge space but they do buyouts for 80 and the setup lets people walk up to the dj booth to request stuff. the street level entrance on meiji dori is easy for guests to find too. another spot is the grid in gaienmae, they have a private room that fits 70-80 and the sound system is solid for a party vibe. both are cheaper than common and less of a hassle with booking since they're not as hyped

if u have a costco membership the kirkland thick cut is the move, 4 packs of 500g for around 2500 yen and it crisps up proper in a cold pan. for smaller runs, precce in azabudai hills & the basement at isetan shinjuku both carry imported US & danish brands in the chilled case, just read the label for "thick cut" or "smoked" and not "loin". also worth knowing japanese bacon is often wet-cured so pat it dry before frying or it steams instead of crisping

kaldi coffee farm is hit or miss but their smoked bacon from denmark shows up pretty regular, the 200g pack runs about 600 yen. what actually works better for me is asking the butcher counter at peacock or life to slice the block bacon thick, like 5mm, they do it for free and it crisps way better than the pre-packed stuff. also fwiw cheap bacon crisps faster, the fatty supermarket kind at 300 yen a pack works fine if u cook it from cold in a dry pan and pour off the fat as it renders.

tbh the gyomu super store brand bacon is surprisingly decent for crisping up, its not thick cut but if you cook it low and slow it gets pretty crunchy. the key is the dry cure vs wet cure thing, wet cure steams. also check hanamasa if you have one nearby, they sell big packs of american style bacon thats actually smoked and firm.
