I would also like to buy other stuff like coconut shavings for my hamsters but I don't know any good stores. Recommendations appreciated!!!

honestly for hamsters in Tokyo, your best bet is to head to Koenji. there's a shop called Hamster House near the station, it's tiny but they specialize in rodents specifically. they have wheat sprays for like 300 yen and wooden tunnels that aren't treated with weird chemicals. just look for the yellow sign on the main shopping street

if you're closer to Shibuya, the Tokyu Hands in Shibuya Scramble Square has a decent pet section on the basement floor. the coconut shavings there are good but a bit overpriced imo. you might also find some bioactive substrate options if you're into that

for bulk stuff like coconut shavings, check out the pet section at Don Quijote in Shinjuku. it's chaotic but they carry brands like Marukan and Gex which are solid. just be careful with the food mixes there, some have too many corn bits

if you're in kichijoji, there's a shop called petit animal that's mostly hamsters and small critters. they have a good selection of wooden tunnels and sprays, plus they sell aspen shavings which i prefer over coconut for odor control. it's a bit hidden on the second floor of a building near the north exit

for online stuff, rakuten has some solid sellers for bulk wheat sprays and organic bedding. i use a shop called happy hammy that ships fast and has proper certifications for their wood products. just check the reviews for sizing

honestly the best wheat sprays i've found are from a little pet store in nakano broadway called animal life. they import from europe so the quality is higher than most places here and prices are reasonable. the owner speaks some english too if you need help

Korakuen has a dedicated small animal shop called Puchi Puchi on the second floor of LaQua. They stock wooden tunnels from a local craftsman in Saitama and the wheat sprays are always fresh, not dusty like some import stuff. The owner keeps the store really clean and actually breeds hamsters herself so she can tell you exactly which bedding works best for the humidity in Tokyo.

For coconut shavings specifically, the pet floor at Aeon Lake Town in Koshigaya has the biggest selection I've seen. They carry three different brands including a coarse cut that's better for burrowing. It's a bit far but worth it if you want to stock up on multiple bags.

if u have a costco membership the kirkland thick cut is the move, 4 packs of 500g for around 2500 yen and it crisps up proper in a cold pan. for smaller runs, precce in azabudai hills & the basement at isetan shinjuku both carry imported US & danish brands in the chilled case, just read the label for "thick cut" or "smoked" and not "loin". also worth knowing japanese bacon is often wet-cured so pat it dry before frying or it steams instead of crisping

kaldi coffee farm is hit or miss but their smoked bacon from denmark shows up pretty regular, the 200g pack runs about 600 yen. what actually works better for me is asking the butcher counter at peacock or life to slice the block bacon thick, like 5mm, they do it for free and it crisps way better than the pre-packed stuff. also fwiw cheap bacon crisps faster, the fatty supermarket kind at 300 yen a pack works fine if u cook it from cold in a dry pan and pour off the fat as it renders.

tbh the gyomu super store brand bacon is surprisingly decent for crisping up, its not thick cut but if you cook it low and slow it gets pretty crunchy. the key is the dry cure vs wet cure thing, wet cure steams. also check hanamasa if you have one nearby, they sell big packs of american style bacon thats actually smoked and firm.
