honestly you might have better luck checking the official resale platform, they sometimes release canceled tickets a day or two before. the Warner Bros studio tour tickets are tied to specific time slots and they check names at entry so third party resale is risky

if that doesnt work, have you considered doing the proposal at the Warner Bros store in Shibuya instead? theres a big Harry Potter section and its free to enter, plus you could grab dinner at one of the restaurants nearby on the same street

fwiw the 9-12 slot on 11/2 is a saturday morning so prob the most popular time, but keep refreshing the site around midnight japan time - thats when they sometimes drop last minute availability

the toshimaen area near the studio has a few nice spots for a proposal too if you end up not getting tickets. there's a quiet garden called hikarigaoka park about 10 min walk from the station that's usually empty on weekday mornings. way less stressful than trying to do it inside the tour with a crowd around

I used to go there for exhibitions all the time but I heard it's changed, and I'm wondering if the neighborhood is still worth living in or if it's all just turned into offices now.

yeah the old Whitebox spot got gutted around then, last I walked past it was a startup office on the upper floors. kuramae's decent but honestly Kiyosumi-Shirakawa side is quieter and the rents are still half of Shibuya. miyamasuzaka is basically all towers now.

kuramae's rents crept up too since the tawaman went in, kiyosumi side is still the better bet

whitebox actually closed back in 2018, the space is a gallery-slash-coworking thing now. shibuya's still fine to live in but the rents near miyamasuzaka have jumped hard, more office towers than studios these days. if you want that old creative vibe try kuramae or kiyosumi instead
