I saw the events in labola.jp but they don't seem very official and committed.

if you're near the west side, the futsal courts at tamagawa riverbed have pickup games most sunday afternoons. it's a bit of a walk from futako-tamagawa station but the fields are huge and the regulars are used to randoms joining. just bring a dark and white shirt like the other guy said

another spot is the small cage in shiba park near tokyo tower, but it's hit or miss. i've had better luck at the omori futsal park near shinagawa, they have a free-play slot on weekday evenings around 7pm where people just show up and split teams

one thing nobody mentioned is that the level varies a lot. yoyogi can get pretty competitive with former uni players, while tamagawa is more chill and social. so pick based on what you're looking for

honestly just show up at yoyogi park on a saturday morning and youll find a game within 30 mins. the field near the harajuku gate side is where the regulars gather, usually around 10am. bring a dark and light shirt so you can blend into whatever team needs a player

theres also a small futsal pitch in shinjuku gyoen but you need to book it through their site, no drop-in there. another option is the outdoor courts in kinuta park if you're near setagaya, they have lights until 9pm and i've seen people just kicking around and picking up players

labola is fine but the vibe is more organized league stuff, not pickup. for casual games just go to yoyogi, bring water and turf shoes, and be friendly. no one cares if you're not great as long as you pass

yeah there's a few spots where pickup games happen pretty regularly. yoyogi park on weekends is probably your best bet, especially near the futsal courts by the NHK building. guys usually show up around 9-10am and you can just hang around until someone asks if you want to join or ask the group that's resting

the labola stuff is fine for finding games but a lot of people just use meetup or facebook groups for tokyo pickup soccer. search "tokyo football pickup" or something similar and you'll find a few active ones. just bring indoor shoes or turf shoes since most public fields are artificial grass

komazawa olympic park also has games going on but it's a bit more organized with reservations. for drop-in i'd stick to yoyogi or the small cages in inokashira park

if u have a costco membership the kirkland thick cut is the move, 4 packs of 500g for around 2500 yen and it crisps up proper in a cold pan. for smaller runs, precce in azabudai hills & the basement at isetan shinjuku both carry imported US & danish brands in the chilled case, just read the label for "thick cut" or "smoked" and not "loin". also worth knowing japanese bacon is often wet-cured so pat it dry before frying or it steams instead of crisping

kaldi coffee farm is hit or miss but their smoked bacon from denmark shows up pretty regular, the 200g pack runs about 600 yen. what actually works better for me is asking the butcher counter at peacock or life to slice the block bacon thick, like 5mm, they do it for free and it crisps way better than the pre-packed stuff. also fwiw cheap bacon crisps faster, the fatty supermarket kind at 300 yen a pack works fine if u cook it from cold in a dry pan and pour off the fat as it renders.

tbh the gyomu super store brand bacon is surprisingly decent for crisping up, its not thick cut but if you cook it low and slow it gets pretty crunchy. the key is the dry cure vs wet cure thing, wet cure steams. also check hanamasa if you have one nearby, they sell big packs of american style bacon thats actually smoked and firm.
