The Apple support in shinjuku Told me it might be a Hardware issue since its not booting up. They Told me to send it in when I am back home in Germany.

The Bad thing is, I need my Laptop for my photography and I still have 4 days left in Tokyo as well as 8 in Seoul before getting back home.

Any hints for a good repair Shop? Because I really don't think its that bad of an issue as they want to tell me.

Thx🙏🙏🙏

honestly if it's just not booting it could be something as simple as a dead ssd controller or a loose ribbon cable, Apple tends to just say "send it in" cause they don't do component-level repair here either. try iCracked in Akihabara, they're on the main street near the Yodobashi Camera building and they actually open macbooks up on the spot. they fixed my friend's logic board for like 25,000 yen in under an hour. if they can't do it there's also a place called Mac Repair in Shibuya near the Mark City exit, they're good with photography workflows too they had a guy who knew exactly what i needed when my drive was failing. just make sure you back up whatever you can before handing it over

fwiw I'd check out Akiba iCafe in Akihabara, they do repairs upstairs and are pretty fast with macbooks. had a friend with a similar issue where the laptop just showed a black screen, turned out to be a dead battery connector that was shorting the logic board. they fixed it in like two hours for 15,000 yen which is way cheaper than what Apple quoted

if that doesn't work there's a small shop called PC Clinic in Shinjuku near the east exit, just past the big Don Quijote. they speak english and do same-day diagnostics for like 3,000 yen. honestly with 4 days left you prob have time to get it sorted if it's not a major board failure

if u have a costco membership the kirkland thick cut is the move, 4 packs of 500g for around 2500 yen and it crisps up proper in a cold pan. for smaller runs, precce in azabudai hills & the basement at isetan shinjuku both carry imported US & danish brands in the chilled case, just read the label for "thick cut" or "smoked" and not "loin". also worth knowing japanese bacon is often wet-cured so pat it dry before frying or it steams instead of crisping

kaldi coffee farm is hit or miss but their smoked bacon from denmark shows up pretty regular, the 200g pack runs about 600 yen. what actually works better for me is asking the butcher counter at peacock or life to slice the block bacon thick, like 5mm, they do it for free and it crisps way better than the pre-packed stuff. also fwiw cheap bacon crisps faster, the fatty supermarket kind at 300 yen a pack works fine if u cook it from cold in a dry pan and pour off the fat as it renders.

tbh the gyomu super store brand bacon is surprisingly decent for crisping up, its not thick cut but if you cook it low and slow it gets pretty crunchy. the key is the dry cure vs wet cure thing, wet cure steams. also check hanamasa if you have one nearby, they sell big packs of american style bacon thats actually smoked and firm.
