Any US style buffets around, ones with lots of bacon, fried chicken, etc?

honestly for a US style buffet with bacon and fried chicken, your best bet is a hotel brunch situation. the grand hyatt in roppongi does a sunday brunch that's like 8,000 yen but they have a carving station and a ton of breakfast meats. pricier than the hilton one but the quality is better imo

for ribs, there's a place called the great burger in harajuku that does a decent rack, not mindblowing but it's a casual spot and you can get it with fries and slaw. about 2,500 yen for a half rack. not as good as devilcraft probably but easier to get into on a weekday

You're not going to find a straight US-style buffet like you'd see in the States, but the closest thing that might scratch that itch is probably the weekend brunch at the Hilton Tokyo in Shinjuku. They have a massive spread with bacon, fried chicken, roast beef, and an omelet station, though it runs you around 6,000 yen per person.

For ribs specifically, I'd skip the chains and head to DevilCraft in Kanda. It's a craft beer bar but they do slow-smoked St. Louis-style ribs and pulled pork that are actually decent, not the sweet glazed stuff you get at many places here. The Kanda location is small and gets packed, so go early or be ready to wait.

fwiw some of these hotel brunches can be pretty packed with tourists and expats so if u want a more low key experience u might want to try a place like Burgeramt in omotesando, they don't have a full buffet but they do a weekend breakfast plate with bacon and sausage and eggs that's pretty solid and it's around 1,500 yen so way cheaper than the hotel options

if u have a costco membership the kirkland thick cut is the move, 4 packs of 500g for around 2500 yen and it crisps up proper in a cold pan. for smaller runs, precce in azabudai hills & the basement at isetan shinjuku both carry imported US & danish brands in the chilled case, just read the label for "thick cut" or "smoked" and not "loin". also worth knowing japanese bacon is often wet-cured so pat it dry before frying or it steams instead of crisping

kaldi coffee farm is hit or miss but their smoked bacon from denmark shows up pretty regular, the 200g pack runs about 600 yen. what actually works better for me is asking the butcher counter at peacock or life to slice the block bacon thick, like 5mm, they do it for free and it crisps way better than the pre-packed stuff. also fwiw cheap bacon crisps faster, the fatty supermarket kind at 300 yen a pack works fine if u cook it from cold in a dry pan and pour off the fat as it renders.

tbh the gyomu super store brand bacon is surprisingly decent for crisping up, its not thick cut but if you cook it low and slow it gets pretty crunchy. the key is the dry cure vs wet cure thing, wet cure steams. also check hanamasa if you have one nearby, they sell big packs of american style bacon thats actually smoked and firm.
