I used to practice boxing in my home country. Now im looking for a good Boxing club in Tokyo (my japanese level is ok but if possible english instructions would be great) where u can also practice some fitness in order to stay sharp. i can move easily in tokyo if its not really near to ikebukuro.

What are the best options ?

Thanks you all !

if you're near ikebukuro, check out k&m boxing gym in sugamo, it's one stop from ikebukuro on the yamanote line. they've got a decent mix of boxing and circuit training, and the head coach speaks some english. the vibe is more training-focused than touristy, which i prefer. another option is tokyo boxing gym in shinjuku, but it's a bit pricier and more geared toward actual competitors, though the fitness class is legit

i'd check out tokyo punches in shinjuku, it's about 10 min from ikebukuro on the yamanote line. they've got english-speaking coaches and the conditioning classes are solid, not just bag work. another option is ishino boxing gym in takadanobaba, it's smaller and more old-school but the fitness side is less structured there. for a proper mix of boxing and strength work, tokyo punches is probably your best bet without going too far

honestly, if you're in Ikebukuro you're already close to one of the best spots without even leaving the area. there's a place called B-Base in the east exit area, it's a small boxing gym that does group fitness sessions mixed with mitt work. the owner used to fight in the JBC so the technique is legit, and they're used to foreigners since it's near the tourist spots. no english instruction per se but the movements are easy enough to follow, and the regulars will help translate if you ask

another option that's a bit different is Gold's Gym in Ikebukuro itself. not a boxing gym but they have heavy bags and a designated boxing area, plus the fitness side is obviously top tier. you'd need to bring your own gloves and wraps, but the monthly fee is like 8000 yen and you can use any location in Tokyo. good for staying sharp without committing to a club schedule

if you want actual boxing with fitness built in, try Tani Boxing Gym in Mejiro. it's one stop from Ikebukuro on the Seibu line, maybe 5 min walk from the station. they do circuit training for the first half then technical boxing drills. the coach speaks basic english and the vibe is very no-nonsense, no tourists just people training. the monthly fee is around 10000 yen which is reasonable for Tokyo

if u have a costco membership the kirkland thick cut is the move, 4 packs of 500g for around 2500 yen and it crisps up proper in a cold pan. for smaller runs, precce in azabudai hills & the basement at isetan shinjuku both carry imported US & danish brands in the chilled case, just read the label for "thick cut" or "smoked" and not "loin". also worth knowing japanese bacon is often wet-cured so pat it dry before frying or it steams instead of crisping

kaldi coffee farm is hit or miss but their smoked bacon from denmark shows up pretty regular, the 200g pack runs about 600 yen. what actually works better for me is asking the butcher counter at peacock or life to slice the block bacon thick, like 5mm, they do it for free and it crisps way better than the pre-packed stuff. also fwiw cheap bacon crisps faster, the fatty supermarket kind at 300 yen a pack works fine if u cook it from cold in a dry pan and pour off the fat as it renders.

tbh the gyomu super store brand bacon is surprisingly decent for crisping up, its not thick cut but if you cook it low and slow it gets pretty crunchy. the key is the dry cure vs wet cure thing, wet cure steams. also check hanamasa if you have one nearby, they sell big packs of american style bacon thats actually smoked and firm.
