Moving to a 3LDK Apartment in Mejirodai, Bunkyo on the 3rd Floor with No Elevator - Family with a Baby. Thoughts?
Third floor with no elevator and a baby is doable but you'll feel it every single day. I've seen families manage with a carrier or a light stroller you can fold one-handed, but the narrow stairs in those Mejirodai buildings are a pain even without a kid. The rent is good for a 3LDK that size in Bunkyo, so if you're set on leaving your current place fast, you might just deal with it for a year or two. Just know that carrying groceries, the baby, and a stroller up three flights will test your patience, especially on rainy days.
honestly the stairs thing is real but 250k for 68m2 in mejirodai is a steal these days. I lived near edogawabashi station for a bit and saw families with strollers on those narrow stairs all the time, they just left the stroller in the genkan or got a lightweight one from Akachan Honpo. the area itself is super quiet and green with the yanaka cemetery nearby for walks, plus the bus to iidabashi is like 5 mins if you don't wanna walk to edogawabashi station. if you're already cramped in 35m2 the space gain is worth the stair workout tbh, just get a baby carrier and you'll be fine for a couple years til you move again
