Where can I find affordable trousers for woman?

Hi, I have been living in Tokyo since autumn last year and I really struggle to find shops, where I can find affordable pants, which suit my body type and which look classic/professional.

Do you know any shops which have ideally high-rise pants/trousers? Like maybe slacks, straight high-rise pants, anything that I could wear daily. Also, I really need such which I can wear in summer, too...

I am quite a typical hourglass figure, slightly muscular, my body height is 165cm, I am in japanese sizes an L size, though.

I prefer more feminine and classic styles for clothing. Also, I'm not the biggest fan of jeans or baggy styled stuff.

I am currently a language student here on a tight budget, so I would be happy about any recommendation, which is affordable. My current wardrobe mostly consists of uniqlo heat-tech pants, so I really need a change for summer anytime soon...

Thank you very much for your help.

shimamura in higashi-nakano has a decent work trouser section for like 1500-2000 yen, and they actually carry high-waisted cuts in L size that fit hourglass shapes. the quality is better than you'd expect for the price, and the fabric is light enough for summer.

if you can stretch a bit, muji has linen-blend wide pants that sit at the natural waist, around 4000 yen. they hold up way better than uniqlo in the wash and don't look as stiff. the shinjuku store has a bigger selection of sizes than most branches.

if you're near shinjuku, check out the basement floor of lumine est. there's a shop called "sis" that does high-rise slacks around 3000-4000 yen, and they specifically cut for women with hips so the waist doesn't gap. the fabric is a stretch crepe that doesn't wrinkle and works fine in humid summer weather. also, the marui annex in shibuya has a "mode off" secondhand floor where i've scored theory and icb trousers for 2000 yen, just have to dig past the trendy stuff

Try the secondhand stores in Shimokitazawa. Flamingo and Chicago have whole racks of work trousers from Japanese brands like 31 Sons de mode and Natural Beauty Basic, usually 1000-3000 yen. The trick is to check the tag for the rise measurement in centimeters, you want 30cm or more for proper high-waisted fit.

For new stuff on a student budget, Gu has a line of stretchy wide-leg slacks that sit at the natural waist, around 2500 yen. They've been carrying a linen-cotton blend for spring that breathes well. The Ikebukuro location usually has L sizes in stock while the smaller stores sell out fast.

if u have a costco membership the kirkland thick cut is the move, 4 packs of 500g for around 2500 yen and it crisps up proper in a cold pan. for smaller runs, precce in azabudai hills & the basement at isetan shinjuku both carry imported US & danish brands in the chilled case, just read the label for "thick cut" or "smoked" and not "loin". also worth knowing japanese bacon is often wet-cured so pat it dry before frying or it steams instead of crisping

kaldi coffee farm is hit or miss but their smoked bacon from denmark shows up pretty regular, the 200g pack runs about 600 yen. what actually works better for me is asking the butcher counter at peacock or life to slice the block bacon thick, like 5mm, they do it for free and it crisps way better than the pre-packed stuff. also fwiw cheap bacon crisps faster, the fatty supermarket kind at 300 yen a pack works fine if u cook it from cold in a dry pan and pour off the fat as it renders.

tbh the gyomu super store brand bacon is surprisingly decent for crisping up, its not thick cut but if you cook it low and slow it gets pretty crunchy. the key is the dry cure vs wet cure thing, wet cure steams. also check hanamasa if you have one nearby, they sell big packs of american style bacon thats actually smoked and firm.
