Does anyone have know any place that does? In other countries, they could stay with me during the checkup but in Japan they have been denied to stay together. What gives?

It's not just you, this is a pretty standard Japanese clinic policy thing. The big hospitals, especially the ones doing ningen dock, treat it like a strict one-on-one medical procedure, and they'll cite privacy rules even if you both sign waivers. Your best bet is a smaller neighborhood clinic, the kind with a single doctor and a nurse, not a chain or a university hospital. I'd specifically look for a clinic that advertises "free" or "self-pay" checkups, since they tend to have looser rules than the ones tied to insurance or corporate contracts. Also, if you frame it as needing help with Japanese medical terms, some places will let your partner sit in for the doctor consultation, just not for the blood draw or ultrasound. Call a few places directly, ask if a "tsukisoi" is allowed during the interview portion, and you'll likely find one that says yes.

honestly, most clinics here are super strict about that, especially for the big annual ningen dock. they treat it like a private exam, even for couples. but if you go to a smaller private clinic, not a hospital, they're way more chill. try booking at a place like Minatomirai Clinic or some of the local gynecology or internal medicine spots in Shibuya, they often let a partner sit in the waiting room and even come in for the consultation part, just not the actual tests. also, if your checkup is at a university hospital, forget it, they've got rules written in stone. i'd call ahead and ask if they allow "taiken" or a companion during the interview, some places just say yes if you frame it as needing translation support. good luck.

Dunno if it helps but maybe skip the hospital and try a standalone health center, like the ones run by the ward. Those are usually less corporate about it. Also worth checking if it's a language barrier thing, some staff just default to no unless you push a little.

if u have a costco membership the kirkland thick cut is the move, 4 packs of 500g for around 2500 yen and it crisps up proper in a cold pan. for smaller runs, precce in azabudai hills & the basement at isetan shinjuku both carry imported US & danish brands in the chilled case, just read the label for "thick cut" or "smoked" and not "loin". also worth knowing japanese bacon is often wet-cured so pat it dry before frying or it steams instead of crisping

kaldi coffee farm is hit or miss but their smoked bacon from denmark shows up pretty regular, the 200g pack runs about 600 yen. what actually works better for me is asking the butcher counter at peacock or life to slice the block bacon thick, like 5mm, they do it for free and it crisps way better than the pre-packed stuff. also fwiw cheap bacon crisps faster, the fatty supermarket kind at 300 yen a pack works fine if u cook it from cold in a dry pan and pour off the fat as it renders.

tbh the gyomu super store brand bacon is surprisingly decent for crisping up, its not thick cut but if you cook it low and slow it gets pretty crunchy. the key is the dry cure vs wet cure thing, wet cure steams. also check hanamasa if you have one nearby, they sell big packs of american style bacon thats actually smoked and firm.
