A couple break-up at McDonald's?

Didn't see any belongings around the table. The couple at the next door table glanced weirdly at me when I approached the table. Could this have been a break up or am I overthinking?

yeah that's definitely a breakup, the ring is the giveaway. if it was just forgotten stuff it'd be a phone or a bag, not something that small and symbolic left right in the middle of the table like a statement

honestly that's such a skytree thing to happen. the observation deck is basically a romantic pressure cooker, couples go up there all lovey-dovey and then reality hits when they come back down to the food court. i've seen more than a few tearful conversations at those mcdonald's tables near the exit.

the water bottles are key tho, nobody buys two bottles and then just leaves them unless they're trying to make a point or one person walked off in a hurry. silver ring on the table is pretty deliberate too, that's not something you forget by accident. prob a breakup gift or a "take this back" moment. you're not overthinking, that table had drama written all over it.

If it was an accident they would have run back within minutes. The ring and the water bottles left like that sounds like someone got up and walked away mid-conversation. You probably walked into the aftermath of a "here's your ring back" moment.

Is Foodland in Tokyo worth a stop for groceries in 2026?

Staying near one next month and wondering if Foodland is more of a local basics store or actually good for cheap meals and snacks. any must buy items there? foodland is basically a discount grocer so don't expect a full meal setup, but the prepared bento and onigiri near the register are cheap and fine for a quick lunch. grab the store brand yogurt drinks and any marked down sashimi if u see it early

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

Agree on the sashimi, but go before 10am since the 20-30% off stickers land early and the good trays vanish by noon.

Weekday mornings beat weekends, shelf gets wiped by 9.

Yogurt drinks go fast on weekends.

Their hot deli case, cheap and filling.

Check the meat counter, 50% off after 7pm.

store brand milk & tofu, cheapest in the neighborhood

honestly the onigiri are fine but the real move is the frozen gyoza, cheap and decent. dunno why nobody mentions it. maybe google the rest.

karaage there is solid but ask them to re-fry it if it's been sitting, way better hot
