Is it me or does lesbian dating here suck?

It seems like a lot of people here aren't out (which I understand is cultural and I don't necessarily have a problem with) but it seems most people I've talked to are questioning? Which there's nothing wrong with it's just at this point in my life, I would like to meet someone more serious if that makes sense? Obviously I know gay marriage isn't legal. Maybe I'm just getting old, I'm 26. I've gone to Nichome a few times, had a lot of fun but haven't really met anyone. Which I realize often times is either language barrier (I'm probably n4ish) or the people that I talk to that are foreign are leaving soon/on a trip. Was just wondering if this is a common thing here and I am doomed to be forever alone haha

Nichome is fun but it's more of a scene for cruising and drinking with friends than meeting someone to date. I'd try Goldfinger's women's night or the monthly events at Aiaiioi, the crowd skews older and more serious. Also, if you're N4ish you might have better luck with the bilingual queer meetups rather than apps, there's one that meets at a cafe in Yoyogi on Saturdays that's pretty low key. You're not doomed, it just takes longer to find your people here than it would in New York or London.

ngl the apps are pretty rough here, especially for lesbians. most japanese women i know who date women use pairs or tapple rather than tinder/her, you'll get more real convos there. also check out goldfinger or aiaioi in shinjuku for events, they do women-focused nights sometimes and the crowd tends to be more settled than nichome bars where everyone's in tourist mode. 26 is not old, it's like the average age people start getting serious here since everyone's busy working until then

honestly it's a common complaint i hear from lesbian friends here, you're not alone. the scene is small and a lot of people are either closeted or still figuring things out, especially in their 20s. if you haven't tried it yet, there's a meetup group called tokyo queer ladies that does casual cafe hangs and hikes, way more low pressure than bars and you actually get to talk to people without the noise. also 26 is young for tokyo, most people don't settle into serious dating until late 20s early 30s here because everyone's grinding at work first

Where can I find crispy, pan-fried bacon similar to a certain international style?

if u have a costco membership the kirkland thick cut is the move, 4 packs of 500g for around 2500 yen and it crisps up proper in a cold pan. for smaller runs, precce in azabudai hills & the basement at isetan shinjuku both carry imported US & danish brands in the chilled case, just read the label for "thick cut" or "smoked" and not "loin". also worth knowing japanese bacon is often wet-cured so pat it dry before frying or it steams instead of crisping

kaldi coffee farm is hit or miss but their smoked bacon from denmark shows up pretty regular, the 200g pack runs about 600 yen. what actually works better for me is asking the butcher counter at peacock or life to slice the block bacon thick, like 5mm, they do it for free and it crisps way better than the pre-packed stuff. also fwiw cheap bacon crisps faster, the fatty supermarket kind at 300 yen a pack works fine if u cook it from cold in a dry pan and pour off the fat as it renders.

tbh the gyomu super store brand bacon is surprisingly decent for crisping up, its not thick cut but if you cook it low and slow it gets pretty crunchy. the key is the dry cure vs wet cure thing, wet cure steams. also check hanamasa if you have one nearby, they sell big packs of american style bacon thats actually smoked and firm.
