Any big grassy park in Tokyo area that we can play Ultimate frisbee at? Besides yoyogi

I'd check out Inokashira Park in Kichijoji. It's smaller than Komazawa or Oi but the main field near the zoo entrance has good grass and you'll usually find space on weekday afternoons. The trick is going early on weekends before the crowds show up around 11.

There's also Shakujii Park in Nerima, which has two big grassy areas that are almost always empty. It's a bit of a trek from central Tokyo but the field quality is solid and there's never a fight for space. The pond and castle ruins make it a nice spot to hang after you're done playing.

honestly you should check out Komazawa Olympic Park in Setagaya. way bigger field space than yoyogi and usually less packed on weekends. theyve got proper grass fields you can reserve for like 500 yen an hour or something cheap like that

another option is Oi Keibajo Park at Shinagawa. its built on a former horse track so theres this massive open field area. not as pretty as yoyogi but youll have room to throw without dodging picnickers every 5 seconds. just check their schedule cause sometimes they have events

if u dont mind going a bit further out, Kasai Rinkai Park has decent grass spots too. its by the bay so wind can be a factor but the space is solid

try the fields at Mizumoto Park in Katsushika. it's one of the biggest parks in tokyo but most people just go for the cherry blossoms or the water features, the main grass area near the sports center is usually wide open. no reservation fee for casual use, just show up. downside is it's a bit of a hike from central tokyo, like 20 mins from Koiwa station on foot

if u have a costco membership the kirkland thick cut is the move, 4 packs of 500g for around 2500 yen and it crisps up proper in a cold pan. for smaller runs, precce in azabudai hills & the basement at isetan shinjuku both carry imported US & danish brands in the chilled case, just read the label for "thick cut" or "smoked" and not "loin". also worth knowing japanese bacon is often wet-cured so pat it dry before frying or it steams instead of crisping

kaldi coffee farm is hit or miss but their smoked bacon from denmark shows up pretty regular, the 200g pack runs about 600 yen. what actually works better for me is asking the butcher counter at peacock or life to slice the block bacon thick, like 5mm, they do it for free and it crisps way better than the pre-packed stuff. also fwiw cheap bacon crisps faster, the fatty supermarket kind at 300 yen a pack works fine if u cook it from cold in a dry pan and pour off the fat as it renders.

tbh the gyomu super store brand bacon is surprisingly decent for crisping up, its not thick cut but if you cook it low and slow it gets pretty crunchy. the key is the dry cure vs wet cure thing, wet cure steams. also check hanamasa if you have one nearby, they sell big packs of american style bacon thats actually smoked and firm.
