Has anybody done the river friends trash cleanup?

If so, how was it? Did you have to wade through water or just pick up litter from easy to walk ground? Was there heavy lifting of bags to do? Were tongs provided or did you have to bring your own? I've done it a couple of times down near the Sumida River. You mostly stay on easy ground like the riverbanks and pathways, no wading involved. They provide tongs and bags, you just show up with gloves and maybe a hat. The bags aren't crazy heavy unless you're hauling a full one to the collection point, but the group usually splits that up.

I went with a few friends last spring and it was pretty chill. No wading, just picking up stuff along the path. They handed out tongs and bags at the start, but I'd still bring your own gloves since the provided ones can be flimsy. The heavy lifting was minimal, mostly just dragging the bags to a spot where a truck picks them up.

Sounds like it depends on the weather honestly. I went on a rainy day and the paths were a bit muddy but still no wading. Wish I brought my own tongs though, the ones they had were a little short.

door's usually shut daytime, they post the month's lineup on their site & the evening openings are still a thing, mostly fri/sat from 18:00

yeah the fri/sat thing holds but they've been skipping some months lately, last one i caught was early march. worth checking the site the week of, they post late sometimes. the window install usually goes up a few days before the opening

Fri/sat 18:00 matches what I saw, though they've skipped a couple months.
