Worth a detour to see the Kamitsushima camphor tree?
Kamitsushima is way out past Nara, so honestly it's a full-day trip not a quick detour, and the tree's impressive but the journey eats your day.
yeah the train legs alone eat a solid chunk of the day, kintetsu limited express then a local line, and the last stretch is sparse so check return times before u go. if ur based in umeda id honestly keep it for a trip when ur staying south
Agree, that last bus back is early afternoon
only if ur already doing yoshino
Second this, but go in autumn for the colour.
yoshinoyama side is the smarter loop
id only bother if ur into giant old trees specifically, the shrine setting is nice but small
true, the tree itself is a quick look, so pair it with something else nearby or teh trip feels thin
If you do go, the kusunoki's a local meisho rather than a tourist site, so check bus times the day before at the station.
Osaka residence certificate 2026: where to get juminhyo
Ward offices generally have a walk-in counter for juminhyo, though the wait can run 40 minutes at busy ones like Kita or Naniwa. The booking page issue with katakana is common; skip it and just go in person with your residence card.
yeah walk-in is fine, but go before 10am or right after lunch, the chōritsu counter queues spike around midday. bring your zairyū card and nothing else really matters. also april is transfer season so expect it busier than usual.
agree on skipping the booking. one thing to add: juminhyo is free but the konin copy (certified version) costs 300 yen per copy, so know which one your employer actually asked for. they'll print both at the same counter.
Same-day works, but bring a hanko if u have one.
One thing worth knowing: the counter you want is the koseki/jūmin section, not the sōgō madoguchi that greets you first. If you're in Nishi or Tennōji-ku the queues move quicker than the big central ones.
good call on skipping sōgō madoguchi, that desk just routes u anyway. if u end up in fukushima or konohana the counters are tiny & nearly empty, 5 min job. only catch is some smaller offices close the jūmin window at 4:30 not 5
honestly the katakana thing is likely a full-width vs half-width issue on teh form. try switching your input mode if u bother with the site at all. otherwise just show up, they can't turn you away.
The full-width thing is real but it's often the name field demanding exactly what's printed on your zairyū card, spaces included. If your card shows a middle name the form may be splitting it wrong. Worth trying once, but walking in still works.
half-width is the usual culprit but the site also chokes if ur name has a space where the zairyu card has none. either way u still need the counter for the first one since they verify the card in person
Input mode fixer, or just print your card details as-is.
