Is 1500 yen normal for a guided walk near 南園歩道橋?

It's only about 40 minutes so it feels a bit steep, but maybe that's just how it is in 2026. Anyone know what these walking tours usually cost?

1200 yen max, that's a markup.

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

nah 1200 is optimistic tbh, most of the cheap ones near there run 2000+ now unless its a volunteer group

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

yeah volunteer groups are teh only way to keep it cheap. rest is just markup for tourists i guess.

arrow_drop_up 0 arrow_drop_down

1500 for 40 min is roughly the floor now, tbh. the 1200 number is stale, that was more like 2019 pricing. volunteer groups still do free or donation only but they fill up fast

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

What time do the volunteer groups usually post their slots?

arrow_drop_up 0 arrow_drop_down

the donation groups thing is the real detail people miss. they post slots like a week out and the weekend ones vanish same day, so if u want cheap u gotta check early morning. 1500 is fine for convenience tho

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

honestly 1200 feels low for 2026, the 40 min thing is prob what keeps it near that price

arrow_drop_up 0 arrow_drop_down

dunno, 40 min tours are rarely under 1500 now

arrow_drop_up 0 arrow_drop_down

I'd push back on the 1200 figure. The volunteer groups around there are still donation based, but the paid operators have crept up and 1500 is closer to what you'll actually see quoted now. 1200 was more like pre-2020 pricing.

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

1200 hasnt been the rate for a while tbh, most paid walks near there quote 1500 to 2000 now. the volunteer groups are the only ones still near that number & theyre donation based anyway

Osaka dating scene 2026: how do people actually meet?

fmd_good島田遺跡 · #osaka #izakaya
Moving to Osaka in spring and curious how dating works there. Do people mostly meet through work, izakaya nights, or apps? I wandered past 島田遺跡 on a trip and got to talking with someone at a cafe… Moving to Osaka in spring and curious how dating works there. Do people mostly meet through work, izakaya nights, or apps? I wandered past 島田遺跡 on a trip and got to talking with someone at a cafe nearby, which made me wonder how locals actually connect.

Mixi and 合コン still pull their weight.

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

yeah 合コン is still huge, but honestly the app ペアーズ does most of the work now for people in their 20s. The 合コン crowd skews a bit older, like late 20s up. Tinder exists but ppl treat it more casually.

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

Makes sense, though the 20s crowd in Umeda seems split between apps and hobby groups.

arrow_drop_up 0 arrow_drop_down

Apps do seem to carry most of it now, at least from what I hear. Curious whether the crowd differs by area though, like Umeda versus quieter pockets.

arrow_drop_up 0 arrow_drop_down

still does, mixi オフ会 for the older crowd though

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

合コン has faded a bit with my Osaka friends in their early 30s, they mostly grumble about the cost and the forced seating. The ones who pair off tend to do it through 紹介 from a friend or a hobby group that meets regularly. What's your sense of whether it's still going strong or just surviving on habit?

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

surviving on habit in my experience, the 紹介 route seems way more common with that age group than any group event

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

Honestly a lot happens through circles and clubs, like futsal teams or language meetups in Umeda. Standing bars in Tenma are also good for casual chats without the 合コン pressure. If u want something serious, join a 婚活 party once you're settled.

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

the tenma standing bars thing is real, but the crowd there skews toward regulars who already know each other, so it takes a few visits before anyone talks to u. futsal circles in umeda are solid though, teams always need a spare body

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Language exchange meetups at cafes in Namba too, not just Umeda.
