Working remotely from Osaka: internet and coworking in 2026

How's the internet in cafes and coworking spots around the city, and are there good places to work from near 島田遺跡? Also wondering how people handle the time difference with Europe or the US, and how long most remote workers tend to stay.

Umeda and Honmachi have the densest coworking options, and Namba library's free wifi is solid if you grab a seat early. I'd book a monthly pass over day rates, works out way cheaper past two weeks.

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

monthly pass at Co-creation Space, but only if you commit past three weeks

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

Co-creation bills from the 1st regardless

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

the pass math checks out but check the contract, some spots bill a full month even if u start mid cycle. also ask about guest wifi for calls, shared office wifi can choke on zoom at peak hours

Shimada iseki is a quiet residential pocket in Higashisumiyoshi, so you'd be commuting to coworking spots rather than strolling to one. Most people I know set Europe calls for early morning and US calls for late evening, then work a split day.

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

yeah and for US calls the last Yamanote line back to Higashisumiyoshi is around midnight so plan accordingly.

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

split day is the move, second this

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Early morning Europe calls are rough from there since the Midosuji line from Abiko doesn't really get going until around 5.

tbh the pocket wifi vs sim card thing matters more than cafe wifi, which is usually fine. most folks I know stay 1 to 3 months, longer gets lonely imo.

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

agree on the sim vs pocket wifi thing, but for a few months an eSIM is prob simpler than either, no pickup hassle.

Is Minamizono Pedestrian Bridge worth a 2026 visit?

fmd_good南園歩道橋 · #bridge #views #osaka
I'm visiting Osaka next spring and came across 南園歩道橋 online, is it actually worth going out of my way for the views? Also wondering what the easiest way to get there is from central Osaka. I'd say it's a modest detour at best, not a main attraction. The bridge itself is small and the view is nice but limited, so pair it with a walk along the Okawa river rather than making a special trip. If you're already doing the Kema Sakuranomiya area in spring, the cherry blossoms along the bank are the real draw.

arrow_drop_up 6 arrow_drop_down

Agree, though the view south toward the Juso skyline at night is the bit most people miss.

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

sakuranomiya stn exit, 10 min walk

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

That's the right exit, though I'd say it's closer to 12 minutes once you account for the river path. Go at dusk rather than midday, the bridge frames the Umeda skyline much better against the sunset.

Dusk in spring still gets chilly, bring a jacket.
