Seeking recommendations for a private tour of the Sistine Chapel and Vatican

If you have had a positive experience with a private tour guide for these sites in recent years and can share their contact information, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!

tbh just go early morning on a wednesday, way less crowded than weekends

the official guided tours are ok but groups are big. for four ppl maybe check GetYourGuide or similar, some small group options

also the Sistine Chapel gets packed by 10am so book the first

honestly the official site is fine for tickets but it wont get you a guide. for a group of four you're better off hiring a private licensed guide directly, not through the big tour companies. try the association Roma Guide Turistiche or just ask at your hotel concierge, they usually know someone legit. expect around 300 to 400 euro for a half day, and book at least a month out for summer since August is brutal.

I have a layover in Riga before continuing my journey, and I'm wondering if it would be financially beneficial to purchase my tobacco there. Can anyone provide details on the prices?

tbh duty free at Riga is only worth it if you're buying cartons, single packs at the airport arent that much cheaper than teh tabaccai in Rome. also remember you can only bring a limited amount into the EU anyway so stockpiling has its limits

Chesterfield Blue usually runs around 5.50 to 6 euros a pack in Rome these days, though tabaccai prices are fixed by the state so it won't vary much shop to shop. Riga is generally cheaper for cigarettes but your layover time matters, if it's tight you might not have time to clear security and find a shop.

LM Blue in Rome is roughly the same ballpark, around 5.50 to 6 euros. One thing to keep in mind at Riga airport, the duty free selection isn't always great for specific brands like these, so if you're set on LM or Chesterfield you might strike out. I'd check what the actual duty free has before counting on it.
