The city felt overwhelming, a sensory overload of scooters, tourists, and the endless clamor of a bustling metropolis. Then, I found this little church, tucked away almost secretly. The quiet inside was astonishing, a stark contrast to the frenetic energy outside. The air was cool and still, and the light filtering through the stained glass painted beautiful patterns on the floor. I lit a candle, sat for a while, just breathed. It was a sanctuary, a moment of genuine peace amidst the whirlwind. My question is: are there similar quiet spaces, less touristy, that offer that same feeling of serenity elsewhere in @Rome?

Yeah, totally get that. @Rome can be a sensory explosion. Besides the obvious, churches like Santa Maria sopra Minerva (less crowded than many), have you considered some of the smaller, less-known piazzas? Finding a quiet corner in one of those, away from the main drags, can be surprisingly peaceful. Maybe even just a little park tucked away somewhere? Also, the gardens of the various villas around the city are often tranquil oases, Villa Borghese, for instance, is huge, and you can easily get lost (in a good way!) in quieter sections. It's all about seeking out the less-trafficked paths.

I have a layover in Riga before continuing my journey, and I'm wondering if it would be financially beneficial to purchase my tobacco there. Can anyone provide details on the prices?

tbh duty free at Riga is only worth it if you're buying cartons, single packs at the airport arent that much cheaper than teh tabaccai in Rome. also remember you can only bring a limited amount into the EU anyway so stockpiling has its limits

Chesterfield Blue usually runs around 5.50 to 6 euros a pack in Rome these days, though tabaccai prices are fixed by the state so it won't vary much shop to shop. Riga is generally cheaper for cigarettes but your layover time matters, if it's tight you might not have time to clear security and find a shop.

LM Blue in Rome is roughly the same ballpark, around 5.50 to 6 euros. One thing to keep in mind at Riga airport, the duty free selection isn't always great for specific brands like these, so if you're set on LM or Chesterfield you might strike out. I'd check what the actual duty free has before counting on it.
