It's gorgeous, all sun-drenched grass and quirky sculptures. I spent hours there, totally lost in thought, only occasionally disturbed by the sound of kids shrieking with delight on the playground. But I noticed something weird... a small, almost hidden pathway that looked like it disappeared into the thicker trees. No signposts, nothing. It was totally intriguing. So, my question is: what secrets does that hidden path in Parco delle Energie hold? Did anyone else find it? And what's at the end?

ah you found the artists' shortcut. that path connects to an old aqueduct wall about 200 meters in, there's a section where someone's been adding tiny mosaic tiles to the cracks for years. not official or anything, just some local who keeps coming back to fill in more. worth a look if you want a quiet spot that feels more like a secret than the main park

i followed it once, it opens up to this tiny clearing with a half-broken bench and a view of the city through the leaves. not super dramatic but nice for avoiding people

prob just leads to a maintenance shed or someone's half-assed attempt at a secret garden tbh. this gets asked every damn season. it's rome, not a fantasy novel.

I have a layover in Riga before continuing my journey, and I'm wondering if it would be financially beneficial to purchase my tobacco there. Can anyone provide details on the prices?

tbh duty free at Riga is only worth it if you're buying cartons, single packs at the airport arent that much cheaper than teh tabaccai in Rome. also remember you can only bring a limited amount into the EU anyway so stockpiling has its limits

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Chesterfield Blue usually runs around 5.50 to 6 euros a pack in Rome these days, though tabaccai prices are fixed by the state so it won't vary much shop to shop. Riga is generally cheaper for cigarettes but your layover time matters, if it's tight you might not have time to clear security and find a shop.

LM Blue in Rome is roughly the same ballpark, around 5.50 to 6 euros. One thing to keep in mind at Riga airport, the duty free selection isn't always great for specific brands like these, so if you're set on LM or Chesterfield you might strike out. I'd check what the actual duty free has before counting on it.
