It was tucked away, almost hidden, and the quiet serenity inside was a stark contrast to the bustling city outside. The frescoes were breathtaking, and the whole place felt charged with a peaceful energy. But I couldn't find any information about the history of the specific artwork, specifically, the artist who painted that incredible depiction of Saint Teresa herself. Anybody know anything about the artists who worked on the interior decorations? I'd love to learn more.

That Ghezzi fresco is the main draw, but if you look at the smaller canvases on the side altars, those are mostly by artists from the late 1600s who worked in the orbit of Carlo Maratta. One of them, a Deposition scene, is attributed to a lesser-known painter named Luigi Garzi. It's a bit damaged from the damp, but the composition is still striking. For a deeper dive, the parish office has a small printed guide in Italian that lists the attributions, they gave me a copy when I asked after mass one Sunday.

ah, Santa Teresa in Panfilo. yeah the main st teresa fresco is by a guy named giuseppe ghezzi i think, he did a bunch of baroque stuff around here. most of the other decoration is by lesser-known local artists from the 1700s, hard to find much online tbh

I have a layover in Riga before continuing my journey, and I'm wondering if it would be financially beneficial to purchase my tobacco there. Can anyone provide details on the prices?

tbh duty free at Riga is only worth it if you're buying cartons, single packs at the airport arent that much cheaper than teh tabaccai in Rome. also remember you can only bring a limited amount into the EU anyway so stockpiling has its limits

Chesterfield Blue usually runs around 5.50 to 6 euros a pack in Rome these days, though tabaccai prices are fixed by the state so it won't vary much shop to shop. Riga is generally cheaper for cigarettes but your layover time matters, if it's tight you might not have time to clear security and find a shop.

LM Blue in Rome is roughly the same ballpark, around 5.50 to 6 euros. One thing to keep in mind at Riga airport, the duty free selection isn't always great for specific brands like these, so if you're set on LM or Chesterfield you might strike out. I'd check what the actual duty free has before counting on it.
