honestly penatih is underrated for a longer stay. it's a bit north so you get that cooler air and less scooters buzzing past at 2am. the morning market on jl. penatih agung has great local snacks and you're not far from the cafes on jl. tukad pakerisan. rent prices are usually a bit lower too cause it's not as touristy

ngl Renon is prob your best bet for a 5-month stay. It's got that chill residential vibe but still close to the main markets like Pasar Kreneng for fresh produce and stuff. Cafes are everywhere on Jalan Hayam Wuruk, lots of quiet spots to work from. Traffic's a bit annoying around rush hour but way less chaotic than Sanur or Kuta
