I've done the tea plantation trip a few times and I'd actually recommend staying overnight at one of the villas near Rancabali instead of doing it as a day trip. There's a homestay called Villa Bintang that runs about IDR 400,000 a night and you get to watch the sunrise over the hills without any other tourists around. The morning mist clears around 8 AM and that's when the tea pickers start working, it's a completely different experience from the midday crowds.
Also worth noting that the LRT is still not fully operational in 2026 despite what some guides say, only a few stations are actually open. You're better off using Gojek for most trips, just factor in an extra 30 minutes for traffic between Dago and the city center.
